Finally an American Van Lines representative called me back and promised I'd be reimbursed for the packing at the end of the job. She explained to me that the actual movers at my house were a 3rd party so I should let them charge me, but no worries because AVL would take it off the final bill and reimburse me.
I was NOT reimbursed. In fact they denied saying it! I had even put it in an email at the exact time they promised that to me because I could tell this was shady. So then they denied getting the email. They denied my original agreement. They refused to let me speak to the gentleman I had booked the job with to verify. Earlier they told me he was in and would call me back. Then they said it wasn't "necessary" to speak to him. They charged me $800 to wrap 2-36" mirrors and one unit. (The unit and mirrors weren't even worth $300 total and were 20 years old!) Then they said they would not deliver my moms furniture until I paid the bill in full PLUS the $800 increase. It was fraud. They held my moms furniture hostage until I paid with my credit card. The most unprofessional, underhanded movers I have ever experienced. Absolutely shameful. I pray no one else has to go through this horrible, illegal & traumatic experience and that this review can at least help even one person..... that's why I took the time to write this. I am seeking legal advice as I report this. They should not be ScamPulse.com certified!
