There was a flyer left at my door for me to donate clothing and other items to a charity that doesn't seem to exists. They want you to leave a bag or box of donate-able items specifically, Clothes, Purses, Belts, Shoes, Boots, Towels, Linens, and Drapes on your porch and they will come and gather them for the charity. They claim the items are being sent to support the poor, victims of war, Disease, Natural disasters like earth quakes and floods etc. I have looked into to the charity as I was going to put together some personal belongings to donate because it seemed like a good cause but upon further investigation it doesn't seem legitimate and they aren't listed with the better business bureau. I love to donate to charity so this seems very wrong and after investigating online this scam with this company has been going on for over 10 years in Brampton. Their website is very limited and has no info on the specific charities or countries these items are going to and they have photoshopped their logo onto trucks and shipping container boats. I'm not sure what they are doing with peoples belongings (most likely selling them) but it seems clear that they aren't going where they say.

There have been flyers handed out door to door by this company that is not registered as an official charity, claiming to take donations from people's doorsteps. This company's website uses poor Photoshop to paste its logo onto shipping containers and trucks to make them seem more real. Their website is unprofessional and provides no contact information besides an unprofessional Hotmail email. This has been occurring multiple times over the course of at least nine years (sources: https://www.reddit.com/r/Brampton/comments/2k5rvn/picking_up_your_junk_for_a_fak... & https://www.hawthornevillager.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50147), to which my family has unknowingly fallen victim too in the past. They claim to need "clothes, and shoes", which all make sense as charitable items for those less fortunate. However, they also specifically mention that they need purses, which does not make as much sense anymore as purses tend to have higher resell value than old clothes.
