Charlotte's Footwear had an ad on Facebook that they were going out of business after many years and everything, all their handmade leather shoes and boots, were hugely on sale. The merchandise looked really nice too.

*Claims to be a small AMERICAN business, located in New York City.
-The business is actually located in China as is the location of the factory.
*Claims all products are genuine leather.
-They are actually made of a plastic-based material.
* claims all products are handmade.
-It is very obvious they are machine tooled.
* Photographs do not represent product
-the difference between what is photographed and what is reality is laughable.
After contacting the company, they refuse to pay for shipping. The cost to ship back to China is more than what the item originally costs.
-after many emails back-and-forth not a single time did they ever deny any of the above statements.

This company is a scam because the shoes they advertised as handmade leather were nothing but cheap plastic fake leather and looked nothing like what was advertised. They also used a Jamaica, NY address to make you believe the shoes were coming from the USA but in fact they are from China and in order to get a full refund you have to ship the package back to China! They responded to my request for a refund by saying that I could only get a 20% - 30% refund discount and the only way for me to get 100% refund was to mail it on my own dime to China.
Here is their bogus message:
We sincerely apologize for any dissatisfaction caused by our recent offer. As a demonstration of our commitment to your satisfaction, we would like to offer a 30% refund on your order. We hope this will help improve your experience with us.
Your feedback is very important to us and we strive to make your shopping experience as positive as possible. We understand how important it is for you to be satisfied with your purchase and we want to resolve your concerns in a way that meets your expectations.

I placed and order for 2 pair of shoes, per their Facebook page, they advertised high quality leather shoes, which they are not, the shoes that I received are plastic, poor quality with a very strong chemical smell. I contacted them immediately to initiate a free return, as advertised on their website, at first they offered me a 30% store credit, then 35 % stored credit, as I continued to reject the store credit and request the return, they offered me a 40% refund, and provided an address in China to return the goods to, however, as I attempted to initiate the return label, the address can’t be located by the carrier

I ordered two pairs of shoes for Charlotte Footwear. When the shoes arrived, the quality was poor and too small. They were made of cheap plastic and had a chemical odor, which I would not want to come into contact with my skin. Contacted the company for a refund, and they want to refund 35% of my money. Next, I was sent a return address in China; however, in the email, they said New York! I googled the address and it stated that it was a chemical company!

The company has a beautiful website (says store is based in NYC) citing handmade leather shoes that are being liquidated because the company is closing. I ordered a pair of black leather boots which arrived in an envelope as opposed to a box. They had a Chinese shipping label, boots were not leather, or handmade, smelled really toxic, and the size was incorrect. I submitted a return request and receive a reply first apologizing and offering a replacement pair of shoes for 30% additional off, then 15% refund to settle the return, then just now an email asking to settle for 30%. They will not provide a return address. Clearly they do not want the product which they know is cheap, but they are playing games. I’ve notified my credit card to dispute the charges, but would like this beautiful website removed for fraud. It’s all a lie and a front. This is my first and last time ordering anything off social media!
