Name of scammer: Director Edwin Hyem from World Hearing, Senior Citizen, Veterans, and Retired Workers. I had to complete an application with name, address, phone number, date of birth, etc. and pick from a list of 4 possible prize winning amounts, each with different processing amounts. Once I selected the amount of the prize and trade-off (i.e. $1000 for $150,000), I was instructed to go to either a CVS or Walgreens store and purchase $1000 in EBAY gift cards (i.e. 5 cards @ $200 each), then scratch off the back of the card for the pin number, take a picture of each card and send it to the guy. Within 5 hrs. after sending, someone would show up with my $150,000 in cash.

Note: This scheme was sent to me by an old friend, someone I had known for years who had just send a friend request (which I accepted) shortly before letting me know about this "good news" and how she had benefitted. I had not reason not to trust her, but it seemed too good to be true. Plus, when I went to CVS and tried to buy $1000 worth of EBAY gift cards, they would only sell me $400 worth - said there had been a lot of scams with those cards. So, I have 2 EBAY cards that I can use some time, but thanks to CVS, it also saved me $600. The guy messaged me later and I canceled the application, although he sent me a picture of a bunch of cash trying to entice me to continue. And I did NOT take a picture of the pin numbers on the back. I am trying to contact my friend (by phone) that her FB profile has likely been hacked and used to propagate this scam.
