I was looking online for the United website to purchase 3 tickets for air travel. The site that looked like United was CheapFareGuru in small print and I do not do air travel a lot, so clicked on that instead of United. It was not until the tickets were paid for that I saw it was not United. They had also charged me an additional fee. I tried to use the 213-# listed to cancel when I saw my mistake, but could not get through. They had already processed the tickets by the time I went to my bank for help after the weekend. My banker waited on the phone, trying to call them as well to no avail, so we pursued a dispute on my credit card with that bank, since, by then, I thought it was a scam and I just wanted out. After a month, the credit card department wrote me back that it was a real ticket, but not their fault. Today, I got a man at CheapFareGuru to try to cancel with the trip insurance I had purchased and he actually yelled at me that I was an adult who made a mistake there was no changing - I would have to live with it! I have tried to call United and cannot get through to them. My credit card department at the bank told me to work with CheapFareGuru - easier said than done. Also, the United voice prompt says it is not paid for, although it came out of my credit card on May 4, 2021. The actual receipt cannot be screenshot, although I could forward it with a good email address for you. I realize that I fell right into this one which I normally am sharp about - just don't want others to fall for this website.
