I called cheaptickets.com help desk at 1-877-489-1081 to cancel a flight I booked within 30 min of booking the flight online. I was told that I would have to pay $100 to cancel. I declined to pay that amount. I got off the phone with them and received 4 phone calls and voicemails from the representative I was speaking with. I finally answered. She informed me she could cancel the flights for a $50 cancelation fee instead of the original $100 because her supervisor said it was fine. I agreed. I gave her my credit card number and the $50 was promptly deducted from my credit card. The very next day I received an alert that someone used my card for $280 with Amtrak. I did not authorize this purchase and contacted my credit card company to report the fraud. I was issued a new card number. Within the next two days my card was attempted to be used 3 additional times with Amtrak. I do not generally use this card ever and only gave the card number to the representative that assisted me. She definitely stole my card information. Beware!
