The scammer responds to an online ad for a vehicle and says they are ready to buy ASAP. The caveat is they want a VIN check performed and want it through the website checkdigitalvinner.com. I already have a Carfax VIN report paid for but they have no interest in that and, insist on using their website. They have no intention of purchasing the vehicle, they just want you to spend money by paying them $28 for what is likely free public VIN information from an API. The website domain was registered 2/27/2024 and they contacted me to use the website on 3/11/2024.
