I have a truck for sale on Craigslist, New Haven, CT. I first received an email through Craigslist on 8/23/21,“I'm reaching you on behalf of my husband. Please give me your email address so he can get back to you later today.”. I sent my gmail address. On 8/24/21 I received a gmail, from [email protected] , ;I'm really interested and ready to come and see your bike in person. But before this I need to know more details about it. Do you have any problems with the suspension ? Oil leaking ? I hope you are not a scammer, I will pay cash in hands, no wire transfer.

Thanks”. I email back I don’t have a bike for sale. Later, Chris Jones sent this email; “Sorry. I saw that. I’m ready to come and talk over the details.

I also need to make sure everything is legit on the vehicle. Can you provide a current VIN report?

My loan officer has requested a report from https://checkfinancecar.com

I would really feel more comfortable buying a vehicle with an official VIN report.”

The site has you register and wants a credit card payment of $25 to email a copy of my vehicle vin report.

Also, this Chris Jones, has never seen or driven my truck and I don’t even know anything about him. I replied I’m happy to send the vin #, which I did, and said it sounds too good to be true . The truck is going for 15K.
