A potential customer giving his name as Richard Bryan contacted our business via text message wanting to know if we could install doors and also do we accept checks as a mode of payment. The conversation went back-and-forth and they were put on the calendar but then they wanted to send a check before the day of the job and I tried to explain that they could not send a check because we didn’t know how much it would cost until after the work had been done. We offered to come to the house and give an estimate. They messaged back and said that they were out of town and their housekeeper wouldn’t be able to be there until the day of the job to let us in and we didn’t need to worry about the check. If he owed more money after we finished he would send another check. I then told him that we could not do what he wanted unless we could go to the house for an estimate. Richard didn’t reply back. The address he gave is *** * ******** *** , Princeton, IN 47670. The whole conversation seemed odd so I looked the address up online and it is a duplex that is for sale. I have never known a duplex to have a housekeeper and I was convinced it was a scam. I called the local ScamPulse.com and was directed to this website.
