Lady named Kathy Strickland claiming to be an investigator for Check Monitoring Services hired by Advance America pay day loans. She claims to be a legal restitution company hired by Advance America to seek legal action in regards to a debt owed. She had my sensitive information (SS#) and plenty more. She said I owed Advance America 300 dollars and they have been trying to collect the debt for several years and since they were unable to obtain the debt they were now seeking legal action and under the State of Texas it is considered fraud. She said that I could waive my appearance in court if I chose to pay the fine plus the interest. This lady sounded very knowledgeable and professional, enough to have me fooled. She then transferred me over to another person claiming to be part of the debt collection under the name of WSA Financial Solutions based in Jacksonville Fl. They emailed me a docusign form which is provided as a pdf. When asked to receive written validation to support they claims of this fraud, they became hostile and said that they did not have to provide me that and that my attorney would have to receive that information at the state level. In all it was multiple people claiming to be different organizations utilizing different phone numbers. They even had voicemail setup with the name of the institution they claimed to work for as well as their business title. Everything sounded pretty believable until I asked for validation. They even claimed they received all my information through NCIS (National Criminal Investigation Search) which does not exist.
