Scammers used a very convincing website advertising litters of Siamese and Russian Blue kittens under the website name "Cherry Hypo Cats". Detailed profiles and unique pictures were offered for each kitten as well as images and descriptions of the parents' pedigree. A testimonials page described multiple previous customers will detailed stories and unique images with their cats. Scammer alleged to sell kittens for $1000 and deliver to buyer's address. Scammers requested a signed bill of sale and transfer of money using Zelle. Conversation continued some time after payment was received but when the delivery date came near all communication ceased and their phone number rejected all calls. Loose claims of breeder certification (such as through CFA) and veterinary records were made, but evidence of either were never offered. As of Feb 4 2021 the www.cherryhypocats.com is offline, apparently due to a DNS error. A website listing the same phone number and formatted very similarly, "Merry Social Cats" www.merrysocialcats.com, is still online as of writing this report and advertises Abyssinian and Birman kitties, and has been reported as a scam in the past.
