I'm recording this description as the scammer's phone number was a TN landline. My husband received a phone call from a distraught "daughter" who said she'd been in an accident, hit a pregnant woman who was hospitalized. "Daughter" was in jail for texting while driving and required bail. She provided an attorney's name, Mark James, a phone number at which the attorney could be reached (615-378-7915), and a case number. My husband called the attorney who provided convincing details of the situation. He was told $9800 in cash was required to get his daughter bailed out. My husband secured the cash, boxed it up, labeled it "legal documents" and it was picked up by a courier, a Lyft driver, who showed my husband the address (he did not record) for drop off which was in Orlando (two hours away from Jacksonville).
