After proposing, a “proposal fee” of $250 was requested by Childress Vineyards. There were no signs of any kind or any information letting anyone know about this “fee”. A security guard and staff corralled around everyone in our group essentially not letting us leave before the fee was paid. This was very disappointing and did not allow for us to enjoy this special moment because we were being watched over by the staff like hawks. We did a tour of the vineyard before and even informed the tour guide that I would be proposing on the property after the tour and still no information regarding a “fee” was made known. If this information was made known from the beginning I would have never proposed at this location. Not a very good look. I’ll be sure to let everyone know not to propose at Childress vineyards.
