They texted me from the phone number +1 (808) 793-4294. The text message reads “ Chime : Did you approve $484.07 at CVS? Reply YES or NO. Reply HELP for help, STOP to end msgs. Msg&Data rates may apply.” I replied “NO.” Then they called me. They asked me if they had permission to cancel the transaction and I said “Yes.” I was disconnected so I called Chime customer service. They told me they don’t make follow up calls like that so it was a scam. I looked up the phone number on google and it’s a Hawaii area code that scammers use. I also saw a report that scammers are calling people to get them to say the word “ yes” so they can record your voice and use it to authorize fraudulent transactions. I believe that’s what this was.
