"I was very hopeful when I reviewed your website regarding your chimney cleaning services. Your technician, Val Alf (385-490-8292) was here for about 40 minutes on Nov 15. He asked for a ladder, garbage bags, and a garbage can (all that I assumed he would have with him). He spent minimal time cleaning the pipe, charged me $640, dropped the bag of ash in my kitchen garbage can, did not put the ladder away, and left. My chimney is not enclosed in brick but an exposed pipe around 15 feet (including in the house and on the roof). I wonder if the technician decides on the price and standard of work. Thank you."
Followed by this email:
Dear owner of Air Plus Duct and Chimney,
I emailed you on Nov. 24th (see below) and have had no response. I was taking care of my wife in the hospital and was not able to be present for the chimney cleaning. My son was there instead taking care of my granddaughter.
I have always used another chimney cleaning service that has always done a great job, bring all of their own equipment, clean the chimney well, vacuum out the stove, clean up all of their stuff, etc. However we decided to use yours because of your advertised price of $99 and the other reasons listed below.
Your website also claims, "Our professional chimney sweep technicians have all the tools to clean your chimney safely and effectively." This was obviously not true in the case of the person who came to our home, as I indicated in my first email to you.
You also state on your website, "We also accept emails to schedule appointments and to answer your many questions after regular business hours." Yet I have had no response from you.
The price charged to us was excessive due to the reasons I have outlined and I have had no explanation from your company as to why the service met almost none of the criteria promised by your website.
I will give you until Thursday, December 8 to respond and remedy this situation or I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau and doing whatever necessary to warn other consumers about the services I received.
