Type of a scam Romance
Later we communicated more and fell in love with one another. We had our spats at times. We got back together several times. She said she is a registered nurse and worked about 12 hours a day. Sometimes she would send me a picture of her at work. We would share pictures with each other. Sometimes she would send me repeats of her picture at different times and when I told her about it she denied it.
As time went on, she said she needed money for her mother and child and said they are both in Italy. Always asking me to send her $150 in gift cards to help her out. Like a fool, I did. She said she was going to come see me Christmas Day. That never happened! A few days before Christmas she said she was broke, had no money. She wanted me to send her $300 in gift cards. Then she tells me her mother told her that a lawyer was to contact her and let her know about the gold and diamonds that her deceased father left her. The gold and diamonds are in the UK and she had to go there and claim the gold and diamonds. I told her to take pictures of the airport and the name of the plane she was going to take.
She did not. She took a picture of her at an airport, a picture of her in a jet plane, a picture of the back of the plane, a picture of a different plane from inside the airport. I had no idea what airport she was really at! When she got to the UK airport she said she was waiting for her lawyer to pick her up. From the time the so-called lawyer picked her up till the time she said she was at the so-called hotel was over 4 hours. I asked her what took her so long to get to the hotel, she said her lawyer took her to his house to meet his family and said she did not eat there but stayed there for a few hours. I was getting upset.
I asked to take a picture of the hotel where she is staying. She sent me a picture of a hotel and when I looked up the picture and name of the hotel, turns out it has been closed for 2 years! I have no idea where she was actually staying. She took pictures of her and her room. Almost every other picture was of a different room. When she took a picture of her hotel bed, it was the same picture she showed me of her bed at home in Oregon!
I stopped talking to her for awhile after she showed me the gold and diamonds that her father left her. After she showed me the gold and diamonds she said she needed $1200 to get them. It was a "holding fee". I told her I could not afford it and looked it up online that for the inheritance, there is no holding fee, it would have been given to her. She showed me a picture of her lawyer with the box of gold and diamonds which was in a large brown box. A diplomat was also involved, he showed me a video of the box of gold and diamonds that was on the truck where it was stored and said he let the lawyer have it so he could show my girlfriend. The only thing was, the box the diplomat had was a smaller silver box and not a big brown box. Why would they change boxes?
When I told her this is nothing but a scam, she wouldn't listen at first. We quit talking for about a month.
After a while she got back with me and agreed she was being scammed, then she confessed to me that she was in the UK 3 weeks already when she first told me about it. That meant for 3 weeks she was lying to me about being at work in Oregon.
Now she is supposed to be staying at a woman's apartment for about 5 weeks now waiting to come back home. She says she has the tickets but needs flight money. But before she comes home she wants to shop for clothes because the UK has better quality clothes. I told her I thought she wanted to get out of the UK and get home as quickly as possible. Now she won't leave until she gets the clothes and now shoes as well. Like a fool, I sent her another $300 in gift cards. Now she wants another $300 to fly home in a jet. She said she saved the $500 I sent her earlier and her friend finally sent her $300 which is what she thought she needed to fly home. She also wants me to help her friend by phones and other electronic devices from my AT&T account which I did like a fool. Her friend supposedly opened up a Fingerhut account in my name, which I contacted and told them I don't have a Fingerhut account. Turns out the address label goes to a place in New Jersey where her friend is supposed to be staying now instead of Oregon. One of the phone numbers that Fingerhut gave me I called and of all people who I called turned out to be my girlfriend's name in New Jersey! My "girlfriend" in the UK said that it is not her.
