I purchased a female basset puppy from a “breeder” on a FB basset hound adoption site. I looked at all of the info on the breeder and contacts and reviews etc… and everything seemed to check out. Scammer! The pup was OG $680, so I paid that through Apple Pay. Then the scammer asked for $220 for registration. Then when I questioned the legitimacy of the shipping company, they quickly said they could switch to another one. Said the puppy had been left with the shipping agency, and then asked for $350 for the change in shipping companies. Then the puppy was supposed to be on a plane by midnight… Well, it didn’t make that one so it was supposed to be on the 7am flight. So when I didn’t have any tracking information or flight numbers by 7:30, I was demanding an explanation. Then “the shipping agency” said they needed $750 for insurance, that was, of course, fully refundable upon delivery of the puppy. Obviously this is a scam!
