Email received for secret shopper, inadvertently replied ok. Received check in the mail along with numerous emails and text messages to cash the check and text for assignment when the check cleared. I was suspicious, so I opened a separate account and told them that there was a 7 day hold on the account. When I checked the back declined the check as Altered/Fictitious Item, thus I was charged for a check return fee and of $20.00. While I am glad I played it safe, and didn't get completely robbed, I want to make sure that someone was aware of this scam.
