Type of a scam Employment
Scammer identifying himself as Walter James offered a job interview for a remote data entry position. He gave me a Skype ID for the supposed hiring manager but didn't give his name. Whole process seemed rushed and off, so I figured it was a scam.
Did some digging. Looked into the Skype ID (live:.cid.fd9e1075e738116f), and the name attached to the account is Steven Bradley. I fished for more info/verification, and the scammer provided a website associated with a legitimate company. I found the company's LinkedIn page. Neither "Walter James" nor "Steven Bradley" had LinkedIn accounts, nor were they associated with the legitimate company's LinkedIn page. I reached out to one of the HR personnel listed on the company's page to ask for verification. HR personnel confirmed neither person worked for the company and that any offer is a scam.
