I was evicted in October of 2023. After being denied housing several times due to an eviction, I desperately searched for assistance in securing housing for my family and I. While looking for rentals by the owner, I stumbled across an ad by Chyna Home Approvals, saying 100% guaranteed approval to get you into the house/apartment of your choice. She claimed to work with leasing agents and companies to assist with securing a lease. After a while of going back and forth trying to get confirmation of her "program," I finally decided to send $500 as a deposit. After this she asked me to create a new email and password so she could apply for the apartment. I begin to be skeptical at this point, but still moved forward. After this she soon asked me for 200 dollars to complete the application fee to the house. I asked her what house did she apply to. It was the wrong house! So she claimed she started over. A week went by and I still did not see any confirmation of me applying to the house. It was still on the market. Not off. No application pending notice or anything. I asked her, Chyna, to send proof of my approval. She sent something. However, when I contacted the rental company directly there was no application in my name, nor was it anybody there with the name signed on the bottom of the TENANT APPROVAL LETTER. I attempted to reach out to Chyna several times, no answer.
