Caller called claiming they had info about some illegal purchases on my credit card and that this was my bank CIBC. Eventually, they asked for my credit card number in order to "update my info." This took over an hour by which time they were getting someone (I imagine) to make a purchase. Stupidly I ended up giving them my cc number and the 3 digit code.

That afternoon I went to the bank and they recommended cancelling my card and getting a new one. Which I did. The several extra charges the scammers took were removed from my account. Warn card holders NOT to give out cc info. If you have a fraudulent charge the scammer should already have your card number. Otherwise how would they know you have been scammed.
