Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
$*** per week to display an advertisement on my auto. After verifying my name, address and email, I was asked a series of questions about my driving, license, age health, etc. I was asked to send a picture of my auto to the decal installer. Then a payment was deivered via FedEx courrier in the amount of $***. When I objected to a payment for which I had provided no service and had no written agreement or contract, he said the information I had provided approved me for the payment.
I then asked when and where the advertisement would be applied to my vehicle. He informed me that the installer would arrive at my location for the decal/wrap. I asked if they would call for an appointment time as I am gone a lot. He said they would contact me before they head to my city. Then he asked how soon I could deposit my check. I told him that I would wait until after the decal was applied. He wanted me to deposit it so I could access the funds. I told him I didn't think I would need the funds until after I had provided the service, and asked what the hurry was. Then he revealed the scamming technique---I was to keep $*** as my first-week salary and send the rest to the installer head office. When I asked for the address for that, he sent the assurance that it was a scam. Instead of providing the address, he said "Have access to the funds within 24 hours to complete the transaction and the address will OCCUR to you. -----Really----- ???????????? The messager identified himself as William Raymond (HRS) Ciclon Energy Drink. I Wrote back, "Shame on you for trying to scam elderly people who cannot afford to lose $*** to dishonest people like you. Don't contact me again. I have reported this to the ScamPulse.com and the police." I had no further messages from Mr. William Raymond or the Ciclon Energy Drink company.
