So I applied for a job with Handshake via my University's website. I received a text today. This is what it said "Good morning, I am Sherise Bartunek from the company; ( CIENCE ) You applied for a Data Entry position on Handshake your resume has been reviewed by our HR department and you have been approved for an interview reply back to proceed forward on your employment.
Thank you !"

I looked to see. I actually never applied to that company. I did apply to another company...When I looked to see how I applied, it made me use a google Doc to reply. It did get my inital contact information (name, email, and phone number) I

When I asked them to give me some more information- the person said "never mind, we have other applicants" Which is odd for someone who's in HR to say.

After I did some more digging- I found this site. I never got to the interview. They then blocked me.

I had applied for a job on Handshake with CIENCE Technologies. When I filled it out, it said I would be contacted by phone after HR reviews my resume. I received a text message from the number I provided to schedule an interview. She had sent over a job description, which included equipment the company would pay for. When it was time for my interview, I was sent a link to a Microsoft TEAMS Chat where I have been speaking with a Pamela Aguirre. I completed my interview and was offered the job the morning of April 28th 2025. I accepted the offer and filled out an I9 form and an acceptance letter and also sent a copy of my drivers license. While discussing when my training would start and my hours, she sent over another form asking for my credit card information. That is when I learned they wanted me to pay for the equipment and they would reimburse me. In total, it is around $5,ooo. I told her I cannot do that as my credit limit is not enough. I decided to start googling this lady on LinkedIn and the CIENCE website. I found her LinkedIn profile and she did work for the company but she does not anymore. I also discovered some Reddit threads with people with the same experience with this company. I then decided to check the ScamPulse.com and saw this scam alert. I learned that I am being scammed so that they can steal my credit information and possibly my identity. I am reporting this so that others are aware of this sketchy company. Always check the email handles and verify with the real company before sending them any information. Now I have to make many phone calls because this has never happened to me before.

I was also recently contacted by this Jeremy Fowler guy. I gave personal information during the job interview. No money was taken out of my account because I gave old bank account information. I had a bad gut feeling that the interview wasn’t right due to him sending an I-9 paper during the interview and was trying to call me threw this app called “Teams” before I even got hired. So I changed ALL of my passwords to my email, ID.me account plus I have contacted the actual Cience Company. Please watch put for this fake. They are really good at making the job interview sound great.

I was scammed through an interview under someone named Jeremy Fowler. All communication was done through Microsoft Team. I provide personal information including bank account access and signed paperwork. After being hired I was told they would find me $2000 to buy company materials for the training.

The money was deposited as checks and my bank closed my account in regards to it being fraudulent checks. When I was deposited the money from my job both checks bounced and my account is now negative. Jeremy claimed he was official from Cience Technologies but he was a scammer using the company name to scam people of money. I reported this scam to the official job company and the government in hopes of freezing my identity so they don’t access it.
