I was dealing with someone on fb who claimed to be a beagle breeder who claimed to be in Denver, CO. We bought a 15 mo. old beagle named Chester from her and paid via PayPal. The breeder said they would cover our shipping costs. In sharing messages with her, I shared that we were grandparents and had just put our beloved beagle to sleep, so they gave us a discount.Then we were contacted by the shipper who immediately asked us for $1,500.00 for a special crate. We were told that when the dog was delivered we would receive $1,425.00 back in cash. We paid for the crate via PayPal. We were then told that our payment hadn't been processed and we would have to use Zelle or Cashapp or gift cards. We paid using 3 $500.00 AMEX gift cards that were photographed and sent to [email protected] Then we were told the dog had been scheduled on a UA flight. Later we received a demand for $4,600.00 for necessary insurance and we would be refunded 1/2 of it when the dog was delivered. It was then we realized we were being scammed. We have been working with AMEX and PayPal to get back as much money as we can. PayPal cannot help us much as we had been told by the scammers to make our payments to Friends and Family which we did. It also appears that the so-called breeder and so-called shipper are one in the same. We believe that we are the victims of not only a heartless scam but also elder abuse.

No one should have to go through what we are going through!!!!

Please, do whatever you can to expose these horrible thieves.
