Type of a scam Employment
Once I added William he first apologized for the unconventional communication method. We went back and forth and he told me about the company, position, sent me the website etc. He then asked me a series of interview questions and after I answered stated I had the job. He even sent an offer letter. Still skeptical I provided by name and address as he said they were going to send a check for equipment that needed to be purchased.
A few days later I received a check in the mail for almost $4,000 from Optimar Title, LLC dba NU World Title of Sunny Isles 18246 Collins Ave Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160; post marked from Bodega Shipping Co. 715 Lexington Ave New York, NY 10022. There was a very generic note inside with no letter head from a gentleman, John Post, claiming to be from the company's accounting department. It asked that I deposit the check and send a copy of the deposit slip back. His email was [email protected]. The letter went on to say that I was to send him any receipts of purchases made etc.
I deposited the check which was on a hold and eventually rejected by my bank from insufficient funds in the senders account. I did not go any further as I was sure this was a scam.
I have attached the offer letter along with the letter I received with the check. Throughout my correspondence I was in touch with a man names Chauncey, William Caster, John Post and Mack Jason, although I doubt that is their real names.
