We were initially contacted in July and asked if we were interested in selling our timeshare from Occidental Vacation Club. We expressed interest because we are now wanting to travel to other areas instead of being locked in to certain places. The individual made an offer over the phone. The offer seemed a little high, but since we purchased it quite some time ago, we figured maybe it appreciated in value. After many back and forths, a contract was sent to begin the process. The contract looked legit and seemed to cover both the buyer and the seller. The two companies that appear to be working together are Resort Rental LLC (supposedly located in Boston, MA) and Holding Village LLC (an escrow company, supposedly located in Wake Forest, NC) -- both have websites that appear legitimate. After the initial contract, we were put on high alert as we were asked to wire money, $700.00, to a Mexican bank to cover title search fees. We did some digging and saw several companies that looked like the companies working with us, but none were exactly the same. On ScamPulse.com we found other scams containing similar names to the companies in question: Resort Network LLC (now a disconnected phone number and non-functioning website), Holdings Corporation LLC, ACC Holdings LLC, and Real Estate Pro. The individuals never leave messages and call often.
