EMPLOYMENT SCAM - QUEST DIAGNOSTICS

I received an email about data entry/customer serv. rep position paying $28/HR, it looked fishy so I ignored it, and 5 hours later I received a text message about this same position. The message came from someone named "Bennett Wheeler" who claimed HR reviewed my resume on Indeed he explained in the text that the hiring manager wanted me to download Skype and that her name is "Shantel Chapman" I googled about the position and the salary and didn't see anything relating to what I was being told and I asked what was the companies name and Mr. Wheeler or whoever the scammer is told me it was "Quest Diagnostics" at the end of the text it provided me a Skype ID. I feel like if I wasn't a criminal justice major I would've fallen for this scam, thankfully I took a class dedicated to online phishing and cyber scams.

I was contacted with someone called Catherine Bennett whose e-mail address is [email protected], the first e-mail came from [email protected], after we spoke from 8 am to 4 pm and signed a contract and spoke everything about the position she told me I should purchase the software for the macbook she was going to send through a 300 dollars gift card from Amazon.

I was contacted by someone named Bennet who referred me to a Skype interview with Alana Chapman. It took about 45 minutes, there were a lot of spelling and grammar errors during the conversation. After I was offered employment, I was asked for my address to send a check for equipment.
