After applying to the company through Indeed, I received a text message inquiring if I was interested in the job. After answering the text message, I was instructed to contact the recruiting manager to continue with the hiring process. The Hiring Manager, then passed me to who was supposed to be my supervisor, he informed me that my training would start the next day. I filled out a common job application with the information that did not look out of the ordinary, after two days of training I was informed that I would receive a check to pay for my work equipment. I was instructed to deposit the check and use it to pay for the shipment of my work equipment, before making any payment, I called my bank to make sure the check had cleared properly and the funds were available. I was told by a bank employee that the check had cleared, the funds were available, and everything was perfect. I took that as a good sign and processed the payment. I was later contacted by my bank, who informed me that the check I had deposited was returned because the account attached to the check was frozen. When I informed this to the person who was supposed to be my supervisor, he only said that the payment department had not worked and the check was not approved. He then said that the company had sent me a check that would cover the cost of my negative total on my bank account and what was left of the payment of my work equipment. I cut all contact with the person after this.
