I was searching on a recipe website when a pop up window alerted me that my computer was blocked and I needed to contact "Microsoft" to get it fixed. When I called, they told me to follow some steps to get it fixed. When that didn't work, the gentleman told me I needed to pay $500 to get it fully repaired. I said no and hung up

Caller asked "Is this (my first and last name)?" - I replied "Who is calling" - The caller answered with "This is Microsoft calling about your computer" - and then they hung up.

I do not personally own a Microsoft computer.
