I received a phone call a few weeks ago conducting a "4 second survey" about home air quality. I thought they said they were doing research for the county or something, but I don't recall exactly. They said I would be entered in a daily prize drawing for participating in the survey. I didn't think much of it, and then received a call last night from "Clean Home Solutions" saying that I won a free air purifier. The rep told me they were located on Collamer Rd in Syracuse, and that they don't do a lot of advertising, so they offer these free gifts and ask that if we like it we tell our friends and family, basically depending on word of mouth. I was thinking they're maybe a small local business starting up, and since I'm a bit of a sucker, I accepted and they said they would come today to deliver it and show us how to use it. They said the rep would also show us their high end model, but there's no obligation to buy, etc. I started getting a little uneasy at that point, but she was pretty pushy and I ended up agreeing. I later tried to find the company online, google, yellow pages, facebook, etc. and found nothing. In this day and age, there's no way that you do an internet search on a legitimate business and find NOTHING. I've been trying all morning to call them back to cancel, calling the number on my caller ID and no one answers; it goes to a voicemail box that is full, so you can't even leave a message. Now I'm really freaked out because I don't know who these people are and they're coming to my house today! The name on the caller ID is Vanessa Nunn and the phone number they're calling from is 315-883-6228. Unfortunately, I cannot find any other information.
