I bought legitimate airline tickets for a Delta flight from a website called workingadvantage.com. My family members bought from the same website as well because we were all going to a wedding and needed to purchase tickets. One of my family members bought her ticket a couple days after mine and had an issue/wanted to make sure everything was ok with her tickets so she got a fake number off of google for Delta's customer service. The person she spoke with said her tickets were on "standby" mode and she wasn't confirmed for the flight and that she would transfer her to another representative to discuss the details further and what she could do about her tickets. She talks to a man named "Michael" who says she has to pay the difference of the flight now because the tickets went up in price from the time she bought them. She had to pay $875.00 to confirm her tickets. So my family member did because she thought this was legit and thought the original website, workingadvanatge.com, screwed her over. So she contacted the rest of us who bought our tickets from this website and gave us this Michael's phone number and that he resolved all of this for her. So I called this phone number because I'm freaking out thinking all of our tickets aren't a guarantee for the flight. Michael tells me the same and says my tickets are on "standby" mode but he quotes me more money that I have to pay than my family member that called earlier. I tell him I need to discuss this with the rest of the people I bought tickets for because that's a large sum to pay on top of the tickets I paid for. He told me not to worry and he would be on hold or I can use the number to contact him 24/7. I got back to Michael and told him I would just cancel the tickets but he told me if I did so I would lose the $2,509.25 that I paid for them. Of course I didn't want to lose that money so I agreed to pay the additional money to make sure my airline tickets were confirmed. He told me that he would group my tickets with my previous family members to make the total $875.00 and that we would be seated together on the flight. I asked him to use the credit card on file for the tickets I purchased but he told me I would have to give him my credit card information and my email to confirm the charge. So I did willingly, not thinking anything of it. Michael had my name, my Delta ticket confirmation number, my address, phone number and my credit card number. He sent me an email with Delta's logo for a charge of $875.00 made out as CLICK TOO FLY. After that, I called other family members to confirm they did the same. One other family member was quoted for about $1,200 to pay and not the $875.00 that I and my other family member paid. I thought this was weird that the numbers kept changing and never stayed consistent with one another. I asked my family member to call Michael back and to tell him to group him with the other family members so that she could get the discounted rate. She did but he told her no and that she also can't get a refund so she paid the $1,200. We both thought this was weird so I told her I would go on Delta's website and speak with someone different and not call Michael. So I found a different number on Delta's website, not the (800) 808-0002, that my family member gave to us thinking it was a legitimate Delta phone number. I called (800) 221-1212 (Delta's actual phone number) and thought how strange that the numbers don't match. I spoke with the Delta customer service representative and asked her if I was put off of "standby" mode and if my tickets were confirmed for the flight. She told me I was never on this "standby" mode and that my tickets were fine this whole time. That's when I asked her about the $875.00 charge and she told me that she didn't see that on my account. I told her I spoke to Michael who was a customer representative for Delta and he gave me his direct phone line to call him 24/7. She told me that there are no direct phone lines to Delta customer service representatives and there was no way for me to call her back again. She informed me that I was probably scammed and that I needed to contact my credit card company about the fraudulent charge on my account. Freaking out, I called my other family members to tell them we were involved in a scam and how everything started to make sense that this was indeed a scam. I called Capital One for the charge and reported it fraudulent and they would investigate the charge but it could take 90 days. They sent me a new card but they never asked me about the details about what happened and I never saw the $875.00 charge credited back to my account so I called 2 weeks later to get an update on the investigation. The woman I spoke to asked me what happened, I was caught off guard as to why she would ask me now when I reported this charge 2 weeks ago and nobody asked what happened. She apologized and told me they would start the investigation now so I gave her a brief summary. Well a couple weeks later I saw the $875.00 was back on my account. I called Capital One and they sided with the "merchant" saying the case was closed and I needed to pay the charge. They told me I would get a letter in the mail and if I wanted, would have to send evidence to them by a certain date. I still have not received this letter but plan to send them additional information but doubt they will side with me. My other family members were able to receive their money back but I'm the only one that hasn't and now have to deal with Capital One because they won't refund me the money. In plain hindsight, I should've known this was a scam but I didn't until it was too late. Now I'm dealing with all this because my family member got the wrong phone number off google and not off the official Delta website and we all thought that the workingadvantage.com website that we got the tickets from was a scam but it was actually the fake phone number that conned all of us.
