Type of a scam Employment
I responded yes I was interested. They responded, "The Job briefing and interview will be conducted online through Skype. Do you have Skype on your device?." I told them I did and they responded, "Here is the company hiring manager invite link on Skype, click on the link and send the hiring manager a text on Skype to schedule an interview, https://join.skype.com/invite/hOKnd6SJLw65". I then connected through skype with Charles Kraemer who pretended to be the hiring manager. (But I did not know this at the time). He continued to message me through skype which was odd. Typically hiring managers will want to get you on the phone. He shared the job details, information about the company, and a website to review the company page, which was a legitimate company. I asked basic questions about the job he had basic questions like a typical interview. After we were done with the questions he asked "If you are been hired by the company, How would you like to be Paid? Weekly Or Bi-Weekly?
What means of payment do you prefer,(Check or Direct deposit)?
Do you have any max out credit card debt too pay off?
What’s your network carrier?
What's the name of the Bank you operate with? "
Being that the job was remote I continued to answer the following question, thinking nothing of it. He then told me "After careful consideration you have been confirmed qualified for the position of Payroll Clerk due to your level of experience and your working skills. Therefore the company has decided to hire you as one of our new working staff.Welcome to ClimatePros
YOU ARE HIRED"
Then he sent me a contract that look legit through [email protected]. I reviewed, signed and returned. He then asked me for Name, Address, City, State, Zip code, Cell number, and Email address. I provided this information as I did not find it harmful. He then explained that for the remote position I will need some software that I will order but they will provide money first. This is where it got weird. He mentioned that they will send a check and I do not pay out of pocket. They will send me a computer, printer, laminator, and shredder. (which in a remote job is not that odd, typically only a computer so I was somewhat skeptical). He further explained how I will need to order the programs from a third-party vendor because it's quicker to receive. He explained in the past they ordered but took to long. He stated, "Employment handout(Insurance,Company rules of engagement)and staff ID will be delivered to you in person by the company’s representative on the same day of your home mini office equipment delivery.understood?" He mentioned I will get money for my training and for the programs needed. He said the check will come from an affiliated company account. He then asked about how fast my internet is and such. In the end, he stated to get with him in the morning so he can share the tracking number for my equipment. The next day I get back to him and he did not provide the tracking number yet. I got him on the phone on skype and he was out of breath and I heard birds in the background. He stated he was at work, and I knew he was lying. I asked if he liked the company and how long he has been with them to get some more info to get a stronger sense of who I was talking to. I then did some research about employment scams one of them was about getting a check, you deposit, then they tell you they gave too much and you give some back, then to find out the check is fake, and now you are out of money. So I reached out to the company's HR and shared my experience. They stated that they do not have this position open and to report to the BBB. So I did!
