Not necessarily a scam, but worthless service.
Total money lost $150
Type of a scam Phishing
This company claims that they work with a team of professionals with contacts in the industry that can help you out to reach more potential fans. This is what everyone like me wants: real people discovering your music and hopefully enjoying it.
So it looked legit for me at that time and I decided to give it a go. (I bought a 3-month package for Instagram and Spotify). I quickly realized that the whole service was just getting you in a chat group with all the other "clients" and encouraging you to do a follow x follow, likes, and comments on everyone that would post their links there. And I was supposed to do the same for everyone there. So in the end, you're following and engaging with other artists there and in return, they are doing the same for you. That's their "organic growth". This group has about 600 members but only about 20, including myself, are constantly active. The engaging only happens between other artists, some of them from totally different music styles, and the possible reach and growth for real fans are non-existent.
Whenever someone talks about this, comes this guy "Justin" who is allegedly the owner of the company and tries to manipulate the whole situation arguing stuff like "my team is working on it..", but I've met some people that actually were banned and blocked from this guy because of "complaining too much" or "not following the group rules". And this so-called "company" has a non-refund policy. That means if you get banned, you lost all your money.
The Spotify streaming service that they do is equally shady. I have to send to the owner, Justin, one of my tracks each week and then I see almost automatically my streamings and listeners growing. But they stop suddenly after 2 days.
After comparing the stats to a couple of friends I made on the group chat, we can see that we get the exact same cities, the exact same percentage of males and females, and overall it seems to be the exact same people that are streaming our songs. That is even when our musical styles and the kind of music we do are completely different. It's totally weird. And every time you ask questions about it, Justin, he just manipulates the conversation and in the end making you be in the wrong. I don't know why, but I'm getting Fyre festival vibes. Like this is one of those kinds of con men. Justin gets passive-aggressive when you write them in private but appears all nice and cool when talking on the group chat. And for sure many people just accept it, based on the fear that this guy has the power to ban you from everything, making you lose all your money without a right to complain.
I'm not sure what kind of technique he uses for the fake Spotify streaming.
That guy Justin has some weird stuff about him all over the web. He claims to be a lot of things that I'm not sure are real. And, me and my friends, suspect that the company is just him doing all this by himself. And for sure, we all want to get this to the light so other struggling artists like ourselves don't fall into this scam.
