I was attempting to find a customer service number for Spectrum and their phone number appeared in my search and I called them. They said they were an authorized customer support service for Spectrum and if I paid through them, I could save $10 off of my bill. Unfortunately, I gave them my name, address and credit card information and they made the payment to Spectrum and then withdrew the payment immediately. I contacted Spectrum and they told me this was a scam and that I had been billed an additional $25 for the withdrawal of the payment. Fortunately, once I spoke to the Spectrum representative, they put in a request to remove the $25 penalty due to the scam.
