Hello,

I hope this email finds you well.

Your CMIC Group Handbook will be delivered early next week. We have put together employment forms, tax forms, and job-related information that you need to know, as well as other documents that must be filled out and provided for background checks.

Your startup check is attached to this email. The funds are for your equipment, installation, and delivery. Please pay close attention to this instruction.

* You are to print the attached check on a white paper

* Cut out the edges of the front and back of the check

* Endorse the back of the check with your signature and write " For Deposit Only "

* Make a remote capture from your bank app (Mobile Check Deposit )

* Once deposited, funds will be available for use immediately or the next business day.

* You will then scan or take a picture of the deposit receipt as proof of deposit and send it to complete this task, after which I will forward it to the accounts department, and they will clear you to resume the second part of the task. ( You may cover your personal information on the deposit receipt before sending).

Let me know as soon as this is completed.

A simple reply to my email is greatly appreciated so that I'll know it was received.

I was initially contacted via email with an invitation to do an online interview. I was under the impression they may have been one of several companies I had previously applied to via ************. As it turned out, that was not the case. I inquired what the position was about, and agreed to the online interview thinking it would be similar to a Zoom call. The entire process has been via messaging. I have yet to have a verbal conversation with anyone. A "Mark Riley" has been the point person that I have been communicating with. After answering a series of questions, I was offered the job of Administrative Assistant/Data Entry. I was sent an Appointment Letter, which is the same as an offer letter. I did sign and dated it electronically, and sent it back. I had a sinking suspicion that something wasn't right because there was no phone number listed on any correspondence between him and another gentleman by the name of Anthony Liam, who is supposed to be the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. I also felt like I was dealing with AI instead of real life people. So I decided to get on the ScamPulse.com website to look the company up. And I'm glad I did. I will not be moving forward after reading what the other person had to say.

The scammer pretends to hire people for non-existent jobs and send them a check to buy office equipment from specific companies run by the scammers. The check is bogus, but the money shows up in the victim’s account in a day or two, as required by federal banking regulations, so it appears to be legitimate12. It’s important to be cautious of such scams and to verify the legitimacy of the job offer before accepting it. If you receive a check from an unknown source, do not deposit it and do not send any money or equipment to the sender. This is what I found out on my own and I did not move forward but told the scammer to F off.
