CO. Services Reports & Reviews (18)

Squannit Decor, Inc. This Corporation has filed a Articles of Incorporation for a Profit Corporation using my personal address. I have received two invoices, the 1st one for $70.00 for a request for a Certificate of Good Standing, the 2nd one requesting for the corporation to enroll in electronic Federal Tax Payment. I am not sending any money or set up automatic payment.

I'm glad SCAMPulse has this listed as a scam. I'm a newly formed business and did a google research into CO. Services. and noticed this linked. They are not taking my money. Whew that was a close one. Thank you ScamPulse!

I received in the mail a formal request for payment for a Certificate of Good Standing Fee. I mailed a check from my business account to make this payment. It wasn't until I formed a second LLC that I discovered no additional payment was required to obtain a Certificate of Good Standing. This request by mail is a total fraud posing as Colorado Certificate Services.

I recently registered a new business with Colorado Secretary of State. I received a letter in the mail from a company called "CO. Services", which appeared to be related to the Colorado Secretary of State itself, with an official looking government seal and everything. This company offered to provide a 'full-color copy' of my Certificate of Good Standing from the CO Secretary of State for $74.50.

They obviously are preying on people who are not aware that anyone can get this for FREE on the CO Secretary of State website with no assistance required. There is no reason this company should be allowed to continue to solicit business...!!

Total scam. The address is to a UPS store mailbox. I have reported this to UPS fraud, The UPS store location and the Colorado Attorney Generals Office.

I registered a LLC last week. I got a document in the mail 2 days ago from CO. Services at 1550 Larimer Street #295, Denver, CO 80202. At the top of the document it reads "2020 Certificate of Good Standing Request Form" and it has a bill for $74.50. At first, I thought it was a note from the state of Colorado with something additional I needed to do to make sure my business was in order. I called the Secretary of State office and they said the document was not from them or any organization affiliated with them. I asked if I needed to pay this and they said no.

I believe this organization is deceiving people into thinking they need to pay $ to make sure their business is in good standing in Colorado.

Received an official looking letter immediately after applying for a S corp. name with the Secretary of State. The letter stated that I would need a Certificate of Good Standing for a fee of $74.50, states that is issued by the Secretary of State, and that I would need it to renew business license, tax purposes, and to transact business.

Sent a fairly official looking document that had my business ID, business name and address (public record) that said I need to pay 74.50 to get my certificate of good standing. When you set up an LLC with Colorado, the wording 'good standing' is used for your status. The outer envelope also had terminology such as 'Important, open immediately, business mail, time sensitive'.

On first glance everything looks pretty official, but if you look closely, you can clearly see it is a scam. The seal is clearly something that you can get at a hobby shop or downloaded from a stock images website - it says 'Colorado certificate services'. The address is also questionable - 1550 Larimer St #295. Finally, their email address is [email protected] - an official government website will be .gov, definitely NOT .biz, and if you look up coservice.biz, its not even an active URL, the least these scammers could have done is actually purchased the domain and tried to make a page that looked slightly official.

I was also asked to fill in my contact info, including name, email, and phone number - none of which a real government agency would have requested.

I recently registered a new business with the appropriate authority in Colorado and shortly thereafter received a mailing (U.S. Postal) from CO Services to fill in the included "2020 certificate of good standing request form". They are instructing that I need to send them a check or money order for $74.5 to get my certificate of good standing.

If you go to the Secretary of State for Colorado (if you registered in Colorado) you can print a copy of your certificate. Look at the logo on the CO Services letter - it is not the state of Colorado. This is a scam

CO Services at 1550 Larimer St #295, Denver 80202 sent a deceiving letter requesting payment of $74.50 for a Certificate of Good standing fee.

The letter appears to be sent by a Colorado State Agency instructing new Colorado businesses to send them money to finish the steps in registering a company with the State.

Its very misleading and dishonest.

After registering a corporation I got this form with the header "2019 Certificate of Good Standing Request Form" claiming that "You have one more step left in order to attain your elective ColoradoCertificate of Good Standing from CO Services" However, it follows by the paragraph "We are not a government agency." I got my certificate from the State of colorado a week ago, so I called the company I used to incorporate and ask about this and they told me it could be a scam. Also, I check online and the price for the certificate is about $40 dollars. This scam is asking for $74.50 to be mailed to get the certificate of good standing. This is a misleading form that is attempting to get money for "A full Color copy will be mailed to you on 67lb Ivory cardstock paper."

I recently applied for and established an LLC business license here in Colorado.

I received a letter 2 weeks later from this entity stating "2019 Certificate of Good Standing Request Form"

The letter is asking for a response no later than .9/24/2019 and to send $74.50 for this certificate.

It says to make the check or money order payable to:

CO. Services

I recently moved to Colorado and needed to file foreign entity paperwork for my LLC so I can legally do business in Colorado. About five days after registering my business as a foreign entity I got a letter in the mail from CO. Services noting that it was a "2019 Certificate of Good Standing Request Form". It said the total due was $74.50 and this was to be mailed in by check or money order.

Immediately I thought this was odd because when I called the secretary of state to inquire about whether I needed to file to be a foreign entity or not, they told me the process was really easy, all online and cost $100. So I did it all online, paid the $100 and that was that. The secretary of states office would have told me about this extra paperwork and additional $74.50 that was needed if it were a legit business document from them.

This is a scam. Please do not send in any money to this company.

This company is sending out mailers to registered business owners with the Colorado Secretary of State. These mailers are claiming to offer Certificate's of Good Standing for a cost, once they have more personal information. Please be aware and if a mailing claiming to be about your registered company with the Colorado Secretary of State but is not from the actual Colorado Secretary of State, or your lawyer, regard it has a scam.

Consistent with other ScamPulse.com complaints. Shortly after forming an LLC in the state of CO, I received a letter from "CO. Services". The letter appeared to have an official seal, bar code and ID # congratulating me on opening my business with the State of CO. It went on to say my Articles have been filed with the secretary of state and that I had one step left to attain my CO Certificate of Good Standing. In order to receive it, I should confirm the information and send them a check for $74.50. The CO Certificate of Good Standing is FREE on the Secretary of State's website and can be printed in seconds. I'm sure many new business owners fall for this in the midst of all the tasks to start a new venture. One very small line of font on the letter reads "This is not a government agency" however all of the official seals, bar codes and wording are intended to make the recipient believe this is an official document from the state of CO. This company should be shut down for its fraudulent and misleading conduct. DO NOT BE FOOLED. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY.
