The morning of February 16 2023 I received an email from Coast Capital Savings Credit Union confirming that an e transfer for $1250.00 was successful. I had not initiated an e transfer nor did I know the name of the person that it was sent to. I checked my online banking and indeed $1250.00 had been removed from my chequing account. I called the Credit Union help line and was told that I shouldn't worry as it was just a phishing e mail. I assured the man on the other end of the line that the money was gone from my account and I hadn't initiated the e transfer nor did I know the recipient of the e transfer. I was directed to visit my local branch of the Credit Union, signed a statutory declaration as requested by the Credit Union staff, my online banking account was suspended at that time. The next morning I received a call from the Duncan branch requesting that I have my computer device "cleaned" and bring in a receipt from either London Drugs or Best Buy showing that this had been done which I did, my online info was changed thus restoring my access to my online banking. Friday Feb 17th I received a call from an employee at the Duncan branch stating that "the whole branch was on this and hopefully my monies would be returned by the end of the day", well here we are a full 7 days from the theft, I do not have my money back, I do not have access to Interac e-transfers and only have empty promises from a Shannon P. I email daily to ask for updates and a time line as to when my money will be returned, again empty promises we are looking into it, thank you for your patience etc etc
