This place hounded me for months and I would answer the call and press "!" and some voice would say to leave a MSG which I did asking what this was all about. So I finally got someone and she said it was "perfect timing because you last day to clear this is tommorow or you will get served by the Dupage County" because it was a credit card with a bank so it's Federal situation. I asked her a lot of questions and she started to then name off some of my family members she said I used as a reference for my application some 8 years ago for this "credit card". Once was my days who passed about 20+ years ago! I wasnt biting on setting up a payment - her name was Mrs. Chan and she gave me her direct line of 888-585-5275 She said my card was with Orchard Bank and then it was bought by HSBC and now Capital One. She said she had to get off the call to "Go to court". I also asked her to share with me transactions which she said that it would only be able to be seen in court by their attorneys. Ok, so how do i know this is not identity theft as I have never received any mail you are saying has been sent. They knew family members and even gave me the last 4 digits of the CC but she was giving me old email addresses and references I have never used - how is a debt from 2018 now in collections and it's first I am hearing of it. WHAT YOU DO: Call who they said bought your debt and hired them- That was Capital One- which had nothing bad. Then Call all three credit reporting agencies. Block anyone from using your social in case they did get it out of you. They show empathy for you and act like they are going to help you...this lady was good. ANYTHING that is with a debt collector or law firm will be on your credit report. So if you get a call- tell them you will verify it with all 3 agencies and that will be the end of it if it is a scam.

Beware of scammers

This scam has called a few times but this time actually left an automated voicemail. Call comes from a Cannon Beach, Oregon phone number: 971-308-1747 and says it found my social security number and then refers to talk to an agent at 888-585-5282. I don’t answer calls I’m not familiar with and then I block the number. There is no reason why a legit company would call to ask for personal information. And the same goes for postal mail scams. Beware and report these numbers to the FBI; they need to be stopped!

They call like clockwork.

Every day, sometimes twice a day, they call leaving the same message in the same voice that sounds like a female warden... They don't say I have a debt, they just say they have a file with my name and social. I just let them go to voice mail. But these robocalls and spam calls need to be stopped.

Received a call from a Mr. Williams, first thing he asked is for my name and when I confirmed he moved on to the next step, he asked me to confirm my last 4 of my SS#, at I moment, I asked him to hold on while I involve the FBI. In the beginning he acted tough, and when I merged the two calls he bolted like a rabbit. People be aware of this company and do not fall for their tricks. A major scam.

So, knowing that I have no collections or unpaid debt, I actually spoke to someone named Nicole who was extremely rude and wouldn’t tell me who my supposed debt was until I verified my social security number. I’m no [censored] and I told her that, so she said “well we will just have to subpoena you” lol um, for collections? I told her I was going to report her scam to local authorities, and she called me a white b[censored] and hung up on me. Someone needs to do something about these scammers. Enough already! Phone number 855-407-7783. Feel free to call her and waste her time.

Scam harassment

This company calls every week, leaving the same vague message. This household has no collections and we refuse to answer their calls. Am going to my cell carrier for assistance. The number they are using is 760.441.6205.

Continuous calls that include my SSN about a fake debt (this household is debt free). Obvious to me they bought or downloaded names and SSNs from one of the many hacks/breaches in recent years and are trying to coerce money from gullible people. Debt collection scammers need to be shut down.

I keep receiving voicemail messages from that 651-409-3050 number even after blocking it. The recorded message is always the same, stating something about a case or whatever pertaining to my name and social security number. Then they refer to the 888-585-5282 number which I've never called. I believe this is a scam and others need to be made aware of this.
