When originally contacted by Dave Connell on February 7, he explained to me that he would send me a packet with some learning materials to help my son prep for his upcoming SATs. I questioned him about it being a scam and him charging my credit card. He said there would be no charge whatsoever UNLESS I did not return the materials within 30 days after I had received it. This conversation went on for quite some time as I was very reluctant but wanting to help my son succeed, I finally agreed. Dave took my credit card information and personal information down and we hung up the phone.
The next day there was a charge on my account for $219.84. Dave had not given me any contact information for him or your company, so I had no way to get a hold of anyone to dispute the charge. I had no email, website, phone number (as he originally called me on my house number) so I just waited and hoped that I got sent what I was told.
The package did finally arrive, and we followed the instructions. Dave and the instructions told me that I had 30 days from the time I picked it up from the Post Office. That was on February 10, 2020. I mailed it from the Jackson, Wyoming post office on March 4, 2020. I spent $8.00 on shipping and I sent it back to the address provided. I never heard another word about it, and I assumed all was well.
That is, of course, until you tried charging my card again for another $69.95 on April 4, 2020. I disputed this charge with my bank, as I really had no idea who “COLLEGE SCR 8888 FTM UPLAND, CA” was. There was no phone number or any other information in the description on my bank statement, so I got a new card as well.
You did credit $69.95 on 4/23/20 but where is the other $219.84??? I have called your “office” 9 times and left at least 3 voicemails in the last 4 days. I have called within your hours, no one answers my calls or calls me back. I have tried to find you online, but I do not know which website is yours. (I got your phone number and fax from the info you sent the bank).
I cancelled my bank card and got a new one, and also disputed the charges with my bank. College SCR sent my bank phony documentation stating that I went online and put in my credit card info and electronically signed. I did not. They also claimed that they never received their information back but they did. Their address is showing "out of business" since January of 2020. I sent it back in March. Because I supposedly gave College SCR to charge my card and I picked up their item at the post office, my bank says I'm liable and charged me back. I'm now out almost $300.
