I was inquiring on FB for home based work. A woman told me to "message" her which i did under the name Maria m. Larsen and i only gave my name, address, phone# and email address. Then was told to add this Bernard guy on “hangouts” app. I asked for his credentials? Bernard Hart sent me a picture of himself and his name badge and he would interview me by messenger and eventually asked for a photo of my drivers license and I declined. He responded "are we still connected?" I then asked if I was getting scammed and he said this company is completely safe

Today I received a call from a man claiming to be a representative of Comcast. I am a current subscriber of Comcast cable, internet and phone service. He presented a promotional offer for bundled cable service. After I indicated a casual interest, he transferred the call to another man who described the offer in more detail. This offer was for 2 years of service for $119.99/mo. The service included 300 HD channels, internet and phone. He said this was being offered because Comcast had received complaints about rising bills and had lost several customers. But 3 months of service had to be paid up front. This was to be paid by going to a store and purchasing an ebay gift card for $360. He said he would give me a promo code to use and I was to call Comcast and give them the info from the ebay gift card and promo code. At that point I declined the offer. I called Comcast Customer service and told the representative about this. She had heard of this before, and left the line momentarily to check with someone. Then she said Comcast is not affiiated with ebay. She thanked me for notifying them about this. They remembered it from some months ago but thought it had ceased.

They wanted me to purchase a one vanilla card after they send a direct deposit for me to pay for installation of software for the comcast company. Very adiment and use clever words to make you think it's legit but it is not!

As posted on Facebook looking for stay at home workers. Lady contacted me via google hangouts to do the “interview” and wanted credit card login information to pay off my loans for me.

I was contacted by Jenon Omar Derrick on East Texas Jobs FB page. He sent me a message about a comcast data entry position. He sent me a code to google hangouts and told me I would be contacted by the HR department to conduct the interview over the phone(hangouts) due to covid. I was then contacted by a person named Bernard Hart stating he was with comcast, based out of Pennsylvania and he would be conducting my interview via text on google hangouts app. He asked the normal questions during an interview and described the position and pay rate. It was not until the end that it sounded weird. He asked me to send a picture of my ID via google hangouts to proceed with the employment and they would send me a computer to get started. I did not send a copy of my ID.

I have all this saved on my phone so that I can send it to you if needed.

I answered an online ad that I saw on FB. It was posted on Shelby County Now and Then. It was looking for people interested in remote data entry for $25/hr. I messaged the person that I was interested and she instructed me to download Hangout and enter an email address and code for an online interview. The interview went well and I was hired on the spot. The person kept telling me all the benefits I would receive working for Comcast. Then she provided me with an invoice for a new iPad, MacBook, printer/scanner that I would be receiving (company provided). All I had to do was buy a One Vanilla Prepaid MasterCard that I would then pay them to download all the installations that I would need for my new “job”. However, this was not going to cost me anything because they were going to put the money for the card in my bank account, which totally don’t make sense for me to buy this card for them to install something on the computer that they were going to send to me. Not only this, but I noticed some of their language just didn’t sound professional to me.

I just got done doing an interview that I thought was with the company Comcast. However as the interview continued, they asked for me to buy prepaid mastercards and give them the information to purchase programs to download onto a laptop that would be sent to my home address so I could be a data clerk. Once they mentioned the prepaid Mastercard, I realised that it was most likely a scam. When I started to question the legitimacy of this job, they refused to message me back about anything. I took screenshots of the entire conversation and have sent them to Comcast. The initial person posted the job on Facebook and routed me to a Supervisor who did the interview through Google Hangouts.

Call from Comcast saying a problem with Microsoft programs makes us qualify for a refund of $499.99. We gave them access to our computer and they downloaded programs potentially to record keystrokes. Also wanted bank info to send refund directly to our bank account. That’s when we realized it was a scam. Programs removed by an expert.

Angela Morris posted in a Facebook group about Comcast hiring for work from home positions and asked to be inboxed via messenger if interested. The scammer inboxed back and asked if I had the hangouts app, I downloaded it and was provided a code to give to a "John Ennis", the hiring manager at Comcast." After I provided the code to John Ennis, I received the messages via the Hangouts app.

Comcast $15 bucks an hour training and $25.00 per hour job working from home. Wants you to provide a credit card or a bank account WITH YOU PERSONAL LOGIN AND PASSWORD. Stated that comcast provided funds to employees to purchase equipment to work form home. Terrible grammar and punctuation. www.facebook.com/haryorni.omotoye (orginal facebook post) and [email protected] (hangouts interview) were contacts. Hiring manager was supposedly Michael Sheffield of Comcast.

- Indianapolis, IN, USA

Received a call stating they were with Comcast and they offered me a discount. I asked him to verify my email, he could not give it to me. Then he just wanted my credit card information to pay a fee now to lower my bill for 2 years. If I paid $300.00 lowering it by 40%
