A person claiming to be a representative of Com-ed came to my door and said they are doing service checks due to meter reads. They then got me to switch my energy provider from comed to IDT without my knowledge or concent. I was told this was manditory and that IDT is a provider to Comed. Once they left, I did my own research and realized it was a scam.

A representative from IDT Energy knocked on my door, and again when I didn’t answer the first time. He yelled something the second time which I couldn’t really hear, but it gave a sense of importance to whatever he needed. He led me to believe he was from ComEd and was coming around to make updates to the rates in the area. I asked, verbatim, “Do I have to do this?” in order to find out if this is a mandatory update they were doing, and he told me “yes” and gave some explanation. He had all my information besides email and phone number which he asked for. He did not ask for payment information. He asked me to sign for the new rate and I did. He at no point told me he was from IDT Energy. Evidently I switched energy companies because I received a text from the company with my contract after the man left which is how I found out it was not ComEd.

He forged signatures, My name and my bill with account number. Trying to save energy costs I couldnt really understand him much. Just knowing to pretend as a company employee.

Ulysses Mcwhorter arrived at my business representing himself as an employee of ComEd. He indicated that Comed had made a mistake of invoicing for my business for the supply of electricity. He said he would need to see a copy of my invoice and would get the error corrected and I would no longer be invoiced for the supply of electricity. He later sent me an email from "global crypo energy" and I read in the document that he was asking me to sign that he was doing something completely different. He was scamming me into signing a contract with SFE Energy to change the electricity supply company. He was totally misleading about his intentions. His website https://globalcryptoenergy.com/ clearly indicates what he is trying to do. Nothing wrong with that, but that was not what he represented to me in person. The document he sent was the first time I saw anything about SFE Energy and then when I read it I saw he was asking me to sign a 2 year contract to buy electricity from SFE energy for a price per kwh that was almost exactly the same as my current rate. He lied about the mistake in comed's billing to me and lied that it would be removed. I told him I would not be signing a contract and would reach out with any questions, he the politely left my office.
