I was emailed a data entry position offer which i had applied for off of indeed.com. the email directed me to go to their website and verify applicant information. I followed instruction. Then I had to let them know I did and by email. Then I was to go back to website and "chat" to verify identity. At first, I thought this is may be the new way? Then the chat person wanted me to access my IDME.gov account. At first I thought it was weird but I attempted it as they were giving me codes to enter into the IDME.gov login. Praise God for His protection! The chat person said after the 3rd code not working "are you sure you're using the right code?" and that's when the hair on the back of my neck stood up!
I clicked out of everything and reported it to IDME.GOV. My account is now suspended, ive changed all my PW and account #'s. This is really scary!

They sent me a fake job offer.
asked me to verify my ID
I provided my SSN and a copy of my DL
they asked me to provide them with a code but I did not
after that they would not answer my calls or emails
the person who first picked up the call sounded like an Indian
