I submitted my resume and applied for a couple of remote jobs through Careerbuilder.com and a view hours later I get an email from Kelly Eppenger ([email protected]) stating she's received the information from Career Builder and Botanical Solutions would be interested in a job briefing and interview session, she then instructed me to reach out to Diego Ibanez Pena at Botanical Solution through Microsoft messanger (TEAMS) so he can go over the available jobs with me. I went ahead and downloaded the app and reached out to him, he proceeded to tell me he's the CFO for Botanical Solution Inc and he will been conducting the interview and the available jobs and pay rate. He asked me for my name, phone # and address which I provided, he then asked several questions to see if I was qualified. He goes on about the company and the job description and tells me he would relate my answers to the hiring person and would let me know the next day what the outcome is and asked that I message him next day at 7am my time. When I reached out to him the next day he stated he was still waiting the the results, a view minutes later he he messages me and says they would like to continue with the hiring process and that I would be getting email from HR dept. I received the email from Lydiabrooks at [email protected] asking me to complete the employment application and sign the offer letter which I did and send back.. I provided all my personal info including my SSN. I then get an email from John Walsen at [email protected] asking for my name and address so they can cut a check in the amount of $8,300 so that I can purchase the laptop and other material I would need to work from home. I provide him that information, I received the check via FedX the next day(11/15/23) I then get a message again from Diego on messenger stating that the check has been received and that I need to go deposit that in the bank via ATM so I can get the items purchased. I went to the bank and deposited the check through the teller and sent Diego a message stating the check had been deposited but funds wouldn't be available until the next day (11/16/23). Today I get a message from Diego asking if the funds had cleared. I told him my bank didn't open until 9am and that I would personally go and find out if the funds had cleared. Diego mentioned to just check online and I said no. At this point I had a feeling this was a scam after talking with my brother and husband. I filed a report with the Police Department and the Secret Service. Diego is still sending me messages asking if the funds have been cleared. I just blocked him from the Teams app.
