Computer anti-virus scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Dayton, OH, USA • Oct 02, 2024

I received an email from the address I provided pretending to be representatives from Norton antivirus telling me that my Norton Lifelock subscription(which I don't have) was going to renew and my account was going to be charged $352. I contacted them and right away I suspected a scam. I called Norton customer service and they advised me that it indeed was a scam and not to participate or give any information. There were 2 phone numbers they gave me for contact. First number was 1 828 280 4145 and a person named Alex answered the phone. The other number was 786 927 6444 and the person said their name was Charles Whitman. During the so called "cancellation process" they directed me a website that looked identical to your official website. They actually tried to take control of my computer remotely but were unsuccessful.
