Suddenly my computer screen displayed a notice that my computer had been hacked. I was urged to phone a given number. The call was answered by a very polite man (Adrian Miller) that explained a virus file had been placed on my computer. He explained that his company could remove the file and provide 5 years protection (through Symantic), plus services and support by signing up with them. The cost was $700.00 CA, which I paid by credit card, to a Payment Merchant called Grace Solutions. He then cleaned out the unwanted virus while I was on the phone with him. I had no other problems until March 28/24, when he called saying I had been hacked by a Clampy virus. We spoke several times over the next 4 days while he supposedly tried to remove the virus. Today he phoned and said he had to transfer me to another agent (Daniel Miller) at the FCC. He told me my bank account/s and credit cards had been compromised and if I didn't follow his instructions he would call the local sheriff and have me charged with downloading ***** ***********. I listened to what he had to say, but became very suspicious when he informed me that he had all my all my banking and card information. He did this by giving me all the balances, account numbers and passwords, etc.. He wanted me to close all accounts and transfer all the money to a Bitcoin account. I told him I was most suspicious and suggested he call the sheriff. I would wait till they arrived and in the meantime, I would contact my local police and my bank. Which I have done. He told me to phone him when I confirmed he was legitimate. The phone number, of course, is not him but belongs to a mortgage company in Utah. I phoned the number for USA Repair Service and was told there was noting they could do but close my Windows program and reinstall it with a new security service. They became very abusive when I told them I wouldn't pay the over $900.00 US, they wanted. In hindsight, it is interesting to realize that all the men I spoke with (slight foreign accent), all sounded the same. I am convinced it has all been a scam. Unfortunately, I am an older person and bedridden due to a brain tumor, otherwise I would/could have thought more clearly and acted quicker. Please be aware and safe!
