- Norcross, GA, USA

On 3/25/2020 I was contacted by Mary(?) on behalf of Roderick Fisher from Computershare, Ltd. This was regarding my resume publicly posted on Indeed.com. It was requested of me to download the app Telegram to proceed with my interview. After adding the app to my computer I participated in a data entry job interview, and was sent a W-4, then informed that post acceptance I would be receiving a check to cover the expenses for my new teleworking position. I received a check for 2500 dollars on 3/27/2020 through priority mail (USPS). I was then directed to deposit this into my account with instructions on how to send it to the vendors: $500 via Zelle money transfer to Denise Sundquist, and the remaining $2000 via wire to Alan Ubaru, Chase Bank. On 3/30/2020 at 9:00 AM I logged in to telagram and was informed that the company would be sending me an additional $4000 to cover the cost of materials. I received the second check on 3/31/2020 for $4950, when I noted the inconsistencies I was assured that this was normal and to proceed as instructed. Later that evening I was notified by my bank that there was a return on a $2500 check. I proceeded to call wells Fargo and notify the authorities, whom instructed me to cut contact. The next day Rodrick attempted to contact me through the telegram app, had Mary contact me via text, and even had a unknown caller identified as Peter call, and attempt to get me to return to the telegram app. Peter cited a problem with the bank [even tough I gave no information on this incident] in an attempt to convince me that nothing was wrong and to continue with 'business' tomorrow at 9 am.

I had the exact same experience - take off your cell phone number on your resume and just put your email. Any contact via text is usually a scam or an MLM trying to contact you for a False check phishing scam.

I am so glad I ran into your post! I'm experiencing the same thing with Mr. Roderick Fisher from Computershare. I searched for Roderick Fisher online and found Rodrick (spelled differently) with Computershare Australia. I wondered why he wouldn't answer any of my questions but wanted all of my information. We're still in the getting set up for working from home stage and I haven't received any money or systems yet but I still feel that maybe he has enough information to do some damage. :(
