Concert Health Spoof Reports & Reviews (2)

I am in the process of looking for part time, weekend, work from home employment. I have been posting my resume on line and have been receiving numerous employment emails and responses. I received a text message on 08/20/22 from Seth Kirkman 219-212-3711 explaining to me that Concert Health was interested in communicating with me regarding my employment request. He asked that I load an app called Wire Secure Messenger on my phone to communicate with the rep at Concert Health. So I did, I began communicating with Mike Arrowood through the Wire Secure Messenger app (@mikearrowood99). He conducted a "text interview". During this interview he asked interview questions and I responded. He asked me to send my full name, address and preferred email address to his HR department at [email protected], so I did. Bob Petrowski (HR) responded to my email with an offer letter and W4 to be completed and signed and he also requested that I send in a copy of my ID and proof of residence (utility bill), so they can send me the equipment I would need to perform my job. So I did. I confirmed with Mike Arrowood that they were providing a lap top loaded with all the necessary applications needed to perform my job. Monday, August 22nd Mike tells me that the company will be sending me funds to purchase my "Automated Time Tracker and working materials". I again expressed confirmation in having everything shipped directly to me and loaded on to the lap top. He said it would be funds to purchase the Time Tracker app from their preferred vendor. He told me take $100 for my signing bonus and use the rest to purchase my equipment. He said they would be overnighting me a check via FED EX along with a tracking #************. He asked me to let him know once I receive the check and instructed me to deposit the check at the ATM or with a Teller at my bank. I received the check on Tuesday and the check was in the amount of $4880. I questioned the amount of the check as to why it was so much just to buy one software application. He then tells me I need to purchase all of my equipment. The check was also written from an account (KB Home) other than the company recruiting me (Concert Health). He then explains to me the check is from the Company's Franchise they are in partnership with. At this point, my ** radar was on 10. I brought the check to my bank and explained to the personal banker what I had just experienced and she confirmed that the check was fraudulent. I also called Citibank of which the check was drawn from and they said the account number on the check did not exist.

Because I did not attempt to process this check, my bank account has not been compromised. My main concern now is that this so called company now has my ID, home address and social security number. I'm researching on what steps I need to take to secure my social security number now. If there is any information you can provide with both matters, it would be greatly appreciated.
