Within minutes the family that was in the shuttle van with me was in a heated discussion at the check-in counter about their reservation that had been cancelled by these folks. Apparently, their flight departed late because of weather in the northern U.S. and the One Switch agent did not accept their explanation of the circumstances. They asked to speak with a supervisor but was told there was no one on site and they departed the location on the next shuttle.
Soon, I was in a similar situation as I presented my credit card for payment and for use to cover the insurance part of the rental. I was told this could not be done, and I then said I was covered by USAA insurance as a second option. The agent told me I would need to present the "declaration page". I contacted USAA and then presented this information and was then informed it had to reflect a less than $500.00 collision/comprehensive coverage. My limit was $1000.00. Before I was able to present this, another gentleman had replaced me in line and had the exact same issue. He insisted his credit card company, like mine, would cover the insurance. To make a long story short, he argued, asked for the agent's name, asked for a supervisor, and then gave up and paid out of pocket for the One Switch insurance coverage. Meanwhile, there was yet another lady with two kids that was asked to provide a $1000.00 deposit. It's obvious that they put customers in a bind, driving them to this remote location in a city with limited rentals available with the intent of forcing them to pay for additional fees and services. It is a bait and switch operation.
I think One Switch is a criminal operation/enterprise, and hope that you remove them from your listing options. I will be contacting the local Better Business Bureau to report this company. I would like a complete refund of the $113.78 I paid in advance on 5 February 2024. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
