Possible Scam

I received the following email. I responded to it and contacted them through the MS Teams link. After several days and conversations, I was informed that I was hired and that I would be introduced to the local team for our training. I have never received by email a new hire packet, w-4, i9, etc. I decided to ask for a copy of Mr. Campbell's business card and NOTHING! Craziness!

I received a text from the same number and a request to download the Signal app. There I had to type a code and I was able to start the process. I went through all the questions asked and spoke with them again this morning by app only and even received an offer letter that look legit. I am trying to see if there is a way to truly find out if this is legit or not. The biggest thing that through red flags to me was the fact I was hired so fast and then that they will email me a check to purchase my mini office equipment from their provider. I would think if they are going to fund your office they would just send you the needed equipment. Just seems off and makes me uncomfortable. I told them not to send me any checks until I have made a decision. Great info here.

After showing interest they advised me to send them my Microsoft team link because they had never sent theirs before, right then and there I knew something was not right so researched job scams and sure enough it was exactly as I thought, a scammer impersonating a company.

So annoying because this is not the first I’ve been offered fake jobs. Some of us actually do need a job!
