I initially got an email from connect shipping saying that they would offer me a job. I had to fill out a bunch of personally revealing information like social security number and so forth, and take a picture of myself holding one of my government IDs.

They promised me 4700 a month plus $90 per package.

Don't fall for this scam.

I was emailed November 1 2023 from someone named Helen from their HR department ([email protected]) asking did i receive the message of the job being a inspection specialist 9-6 Monday- Friday , average monthly income 4,700 , $90 daily & $50-$100 bonuses packages done correctly and on time but you had to work your first 30 days before you get paid , im thinking they are like that cause maybe they had high rollover time because the pay . I responded and accepted the job . They had warehouse , address , HR numbers , the contract looked real so I didn't think nothing of it because eveything looked to be REAL. They told be about the job offered me a position and sent me the contract. I signed it and waited to hear back from the manger Alfie Gunn , they got all my information " ran my background check " . Eveything went through they then sent me my dashboard and training to get started and all their contact information 2 supervisors ( David sanders & silvest knight ) and a manger ( Alfie Gunn ) and told me to watch over the videos as they with be my training guide to do the job . I received my first package November 17th 2023 and received a payment date of December 18, 2023 ( my 30 day period for first payment ) from that point on everyday I was receiving packages , inspecting them making sure it was the right product and dropping them back off at the ups or fedex office that same day to receive my $50 bonus for each package sent back out within the 24 hour time frame it was received . I was spending my own money to go back and forth and to pay for boxes & print labels as they said in the contract and told me on the phone I would be reimbursed for all transactions and send them my receipts which I did . In total I received and sent off 25 packages and spent $200 plus sending off those packages , they all were sent off on time so I should've received $50 for each package plus my $90 daily . The last week before I was to get paid that whole week they haven't called or sent me a package , nothing appeared on my dashboard but what was already there and done ( I'm thinking because it close to my pay period and it's going to start all over again and it a certain amount of packages I'm supposed to ship out each period ) the mangers and supervisors stop calling and wasn't returning NONE of my calls, text or emails . So come today Monday December 18 2023 when I'm supposed to receive my payment for the 30 plus days I worked , I log on my dashboard I see I have 2 packages a tool kit and a Apple iPad 10th through fedex I was supposed to receive the 22 & 23 of December, so I called each one of them ( manger & supervisors ) several times and one by one line each line became disconnected , then I tired to log back into my dashboard and it said I had an "invalid username and password" . So they blocked me and locked me out . They won't return a call or email from me anymore . So I worked 30 plus days FOR FREE AROUND CHRISTMAS time just trying to make money and have a good Christmas for my child and this is what I got . I hope they hurry up and find these people this was sooooo wrong and I hope & pray no one else falls for this .

I applied for many work-from-home positions on Indeed, and on October 18, I received a call from a woman with an American accent named Jessie Henderson, who said she was the manager of a logistics company called Connect Shipping. She went into great detail about my work description, saying that I would be receiving items, inspecting them, and sending them to the customer. She told me my income was $2,700 per month and that I would receive $50 for each item I sent out in 24 hours. I conducted interviews the following day with Jessie Henderson and two other women who identified themselves as supervisors. Following the interview, I received an employment contract and was hired. The next Monday, after completing the Interview, I began training with the other two supervisors (Vivian Love and Felice Garner, both with Asian accents). They offered everything that a legitimate business would have, including a comprehensive training program, a dashboard, a website, and a warehouse located at 29600 32 Mile Rd #2a, New Haven, MI 48050. The following week I sent out two packages, and when I went to pick up the third one at the UPS store, it was tagged as a suspicious package. When I began to raise questions, I received a call from a new woman with an American accent and a new phone number, 515-644-1703. She said she was from HR and was offering me a new position as an in-store Shopper. She asked for my social security number and credit card details; I told her I would give it to her later. After I got off the phone I Googled the phone number and I saw that the 515 number was connected to another organization that had received numerous fraud complaints about them pertaining to the same task I was doing. After figuring out the job was a scam, I rejected the job and immediately was blocked and locked out of the dashboard. I Later Filled a report with the FBI and FTC.

Where they made me submit a selfie of me holding my ID.

I now have to change my bank account number which could possibly be compromised and at the very least have this reported to the police because my identity could be used to buy stolen goods with stolen credit cards, as this is supposed to be a repackaging and reshipping company. There aren’t any customers, they are the customer and there using you to get the goods and verify it to them. What a shame.

Called for interview about having packages sent to residence to be scanned and sent back .

First of all, i was desperate for employment when all of the sudden (and out of the blue), Amanda from 586-352-0722, Connect Shipping, called. Her call was unsolicited. I first thought something was up when her phone sounded "garbbled." Not necessarily an issue in and by itself but when I said I'd call her back to see if I could get a better connection, she insisted that she should call back instead.

Her call back came instantly and was worse. What really caused my "spidy-sense" to go off was the "arrangement." It was basically me receiving goods from multiple sources and on behalf of people living in South America and Asia. I would inspect the goods, print off a label then ship them to the purchaser at my cost. I would be paid back for the shipping costs + my standard upcharge.

So, I never initiated contact with this Connect Shipping dba Connect Logistics USA. The phone connection was dubious, the set up was weird and I had to front the charges for postage. Even if all that sounds legit - it doesn't- I'm thinking, first of all, what kind of "goods" are being shipped? Drugs? Stolen Merchandise? Other illegal goods packed instead that which I HAVE INSPECTED and I SHIP to unknown destinations in S America and all points Asia? My second thought was why can't the goods be shipped direct to the buyer? Why a middle man?

Anyway, I pictured myself in court, spending lots of $$$ on attorney fees and later crafting this complaint from my 6 x 9 ft jail cell. So ,ya, I'm thinking I have far better ways to find employment.

Was laid off from my job because of military training. Not allowed to do that but whatever, just some back story.

Have been looking for work for 3 months, and I got a call from a spam blocked number, and answered it thinking it would be a call I am expecting from USAA, you never know, after all. Answered then hung up on an "Amanda Gilbert", I had just woken up by the way. The number called again so I wasn't cognitive enough to realize I hadn't blocked the initial call. After confirming this was nobody I was expecting, I hung up again and ensured they were blocked. I then saw an email from this person regarding an interview. Again, I was desperate for work. So I unblocked and called back, and this was red flag number 1:

They wanted to conduct the interview themselves (saying they were from HR, no hiring manager or anything). Conducted the interview and it was a bunch of surface level questions but she talked about packages being sent to my house, and then I would send them back out as part of an inspection process. This was when I began to realize it may be a scam and began to look up their domain on open available sources. I was om the fence because their domain kept bringing up some kind of "subsidiary to UPS".

Then cam red flag number 2: They immediately said I'd be a good fit and wanted to discuss pay, describing it as a salary in days and weeks, not in hourly or annualy income like a real job in the US would describe. Following this they sent me a secondary email with a link, which had a domain that did not match their current domain of "shippingconnect-hr.com", but rather it read "shippinglogisticsus.com".
